Description
Set of two, vintage, finished, framed and ready-to-hang Hummel needlepoint work. The little girl is carrying a basket and holding a bouquet of fresh-picked flowers and the little boy is holding a walking stick and wearing a backpack that’s filled with flowers. Each is adorable on their own and when hanging together on the wall, they just seem like they were meant to be together. Each beveled frame is made of warm, orange-toned wood, finished with a gold inlay that sits against the glass. I love their overall character and soft, earthy-toned colors.
When I found these, the backing on each were in terrible condition, literally old masking tape and thin cardboard, just falling apart in my hands. The original hangers were loose and absolutely had to be replaced. Both frames now have a brand new piece of paper backing, new hanging hardware and new coated wire. The art framer in me just couldn’t resist! (see photos for before and after)
Both frames shows some wear (see photos), including scratches and scuffs but there’s nothing about these that wouldn’t stop me from hanging them on my own wall. As with most vintage items, these framed needlework have been previously owned, show signs of love, age and are sold as-is but please, contact me with any questions you may have.
